Energeyes Optometry Student and New Grad Program

Optometry students and new optometry school graduates are faced with a myriad of choices as they embark upon their new, exciting career. Energeyes seeks to engage and support optometric students in order to provide information and education about the exciting prospects of working within a corporate environment. The Board of Directors of the Energeyes Association have called for the following program components to be provided to all optomertry students and new graduates:

“For the Optometric Student” section in the Energeyes Newsletter is a monthly standing article written by contributors on topics important to optometry students.

Designated Board Member – Dr. Christopher Envani, practicing within a Walmart in Dallas, TX is the Energeyes Designated Board member who coordinates the student program.  Dr. Envani is the contact for all students and Schools of Optometry looking to participate.  You can reach Dr. Envani at info@energeyesassociation.com.

Energeyes Student Committee – A committee of students will be formed (one representative from each optometry school).  This group will elects a group leader who will attend our Board of Director meetings and report out on student ideas, needs, questions, etc. This committee is coordinated through the Designated Board member.

Speakers Bureau – Energeyes has a wealth of talented speakers and Subject Matter Experts (SME's) available as a  resource to speak at Schools of Optometry on topics important to corporate optometry and optometry in general. Student committee members are able to schedule speakers on their campus through the Association.

Special Student Membership – The Energeyes Association provides a no cost membership for optometry students and new graduates through their first year of professional life.

National Meetings - All Student Members are invited to the Energeyes Association National Meetings and all registration fees are waived. Participate in our essay contest to win an all-expense paid trip to our national meeting.  (See below)

Competition for student National Meeting Student Presentations Competition – One student and one new graduate will be selected to present at the Energeyes National Meeting.  All expenses are paid to attend the meeting for the three students selected.  Competition guidelines can be found here.

Mentoring Program – All registered students are eligible for a mentor upon request after graduation.

Job Board – Students have access to the Energeyes job Board where Members and recruiters can post open positions.  Students may also post their resume on our Job Seekers Board where interested members can search for potential new Associates. 

Summer Externships – Energeyes is developing an externship program which will be available to student members only at Member practices from coast to coast.  Hands on experience to help you with your career. 

Practice Management Webinars for Students – The Energeyes Association understands the significant financial burden of new graduating students.  Energeyes has partnered with Mr. Adam Cmejla of Integrated Planning and Wealth Management to offer a unique video mini-series on managing financial issues students and new graduates face to start their careers on solid financial footing. The video series is free of charge and can be accessed through the member portal only.
